An Wholesome day...

Feeling slightly blank. Maybe my limit is one blog per day and since the quota is over, the desire to blog and the ability to write are inversely proportional.

But since I have started, I do not wish to leave it incomplete. It was the very purpose that I turned on my computer so late at night.

Looking back at the day, I feel I have done quiet a lot. Sent-off visiting relatives, shopped wholeheartedly in an whole sale market, napped for a good hour and dressed up and landed in time for a wedding. Too much for a Saturday.

Talking about wholesale markets, it was a revelation to me that such shopping can also be equally gratifying. Located in Parrys Corner, many small shops are lined up on the multitude of lanes that make up this area. Each one specialises in something and have quality goods to offer. The mere variety and reasonable prices encourage you to buy. Plus the sweat and hard work of the people behind it is evident. Sometimes when I see those heavily soiled, over worked hands, I do not wish to bargain.

Happened to also walk in to some novelty stores. In some nook or in some corner there would be a shop that has been doing business since ages. Something about it all holds great appeal.

List of my acquisitions are listed below:

1. Iron kadai - Rs.230 approx - planning to ensure good Iron intake with its use.

2. Iron Dosa-kal - Rs.210 approx - hoping that husband dearest can enjoy the muru-muru dosas that I can make on it.

3. SS Tawa - Rs.210 - It has many holes in it and therefore conducts heat easily. Expecting that it would be useful in saving gas (dearer by Rs.50 now).

4. Measuring Cup - Rs.26 - if i ever follow a recipe, it would be useful, i hope.

5. Travel cups (2nos) - Rs.27each - collapsible cups that look like some compact dabba (box) which are ideal for use while travelling. Hope it does not leak.

6. Flask 500ml - Rs.350 approx - Metal flasks are best for rough users like me so just got one for Bangalore.

What I found as novel in the above were  items 3 & 5. The iron wholesale shop experience was good. Did not know that the bottom of an iron vessel is to be smooth else it would spurt, spit and bomb.

Also left with a lot of gift ideas. Especially the Return Gifts kind. Love receiving them and love giving them too. But opportunity hasn't come yet.
