Break ke baad!!!

I would recommend this to everyone. A little break. It always teaches you many things.

The words to pen my experience seem to evade my thoughts. Three days that went by beautifully cannot be summarised in 300 words. But here are the few excerpts of my experience:

There can never be enough Rain With that in mind we had planned for the inevitable. July in Kerala means rainfall. But our luck
managed to change nature's clock. It was pouring heavily when we got out of our train, but the moment we stepped out of the station it stopped. It started drizzling when we walking to the hotel and after we checked in it rained non-stop. There was rain everyday, but we never had to unfurl an umbrella.

Taxi chodo Bus pakdo The best and fastest way to get around any place would be the local bus. The driver would be like a Robot, his mission being Fast, Faster, Fastest. A Jet plane pilot in his past life, probably a regression therapy made him recall his motor skills which he now diligently uses to fly his machine. The first time my heart was at my throat, I looked on in horror as the distance between my bus and other vehicles kept decreasing rapidly. But with time and the numerous buses that I had to get in to later, I got used to the way traffic works. Seemed like every other driver on the road were re-incarnated jet pilots.

Boori is not poori If you see that the menu list says Boori, be warned. It is not the poori that you get to eat at your hotels in Chennai. It is bigger than what you'd get here and slightly smaller than the Chola Bhatura variety. One plate means 2 humongous looking booris for your palate. Other warning would be that a if you order for 2 nos Uthappam, you are actually ordering 8 uthampams of Saravana Bhavan standards.

S11?? There is no such coach If by any chance the train you are to board, normally has only sleeper coaches from S1 to S10 and your ticket shows S11, be warned. This would mean that the coach would not have been linked in order and would be an extra coach. Online services and touch screen machines help you see the coach position from engine. Being my first such incident, even seeing the coach position had not brightened my bulb. Somehow despite the odds (the TTE there was ignorant about S11, train would stop only for 5mins and we had to walk from one end of the platform to the other) we managed to board the right coach in time.

Left home on Thursday night and came back happy and relaxed on Monday morning. There are many other things that happened in between but cannot be put in to words. Visited nearly 9 temples, big and small and each left a lasting impression and divine memories behind.
